Summary

About the role:

Undertake cleaning of Powys buildings following policies and procedures. This can include cleaning of appliances, sinks, work surfaces, skirting’s, ledges, sills, walls and floors, as well as emptying bins, and removing of dirty marks from walls, doors and internal windows. Wash down door frames, doors and door furniture.

About you:

The right person will;

Have a full driving license
Be a good team worker as well as being able to use their own initiative
Be able to prioritise work
Have experience of cleaning
Knowledge of Powys Geographical Area
To be able to demonstrate consistency in cleaning to a very high standard showing attention to detail, while showing the ability to care and achieve the best results possible for every task.
Have a clear understanding of how to handle/manage and use cleaning products, including harsh chemicals.
To be able to carry out deep cleaning practices with effective and efficient time management.
To display professional manner and always be empathetic to the service users and the environment/circumstances that may be required to work in.
To be hard working, a fast learner and the ability to multitask
Have a good level of physical fitness as the job does require the job holder to walk up to 4 flights of stairs possibly 6 times a day whilst cleaning.
What you will do:

Carry out heavy/deep cleaning/de-cluttering tasks and projects in various Powys owned and privately owned properties.
Carry out periodic & regular cleaning of stairwells and bathrooms owned and maintained by PCC.
Perform and document routine and ad hoc inspection of areas cleaned and recording/reporting information either written or via internal supported IT systems.
Refilling, re stocking of hygiene products and paper in designated receptacles, also reordering of stock for use on vans.
Perform the correct procedure for the cleaning and disposing of blood, vomit, bodily fluids, and faeces, including soiled bedding, carpets, and furniture.
Clean in an environment where the service user is elderly, and possibly a vulnerable adult, where the areas are of extremely poor hygiene, to be able to display care and empathy for the client and of their personal items and belongings whilst in their presence or home.
