Summary

Substance Misuse Practise Development Lead - CAS2

Job Type – Full time, Permanent

Salary - Salary - £35,235 to £38,126 (Nacro Grade 10, NHS equivalent Grade 6)

Hours – 40 hours per week including 5 hours paid lunch breaks.

Location – National remit, based one day per week or fortnight from our Wolverhampton site.

We are seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Practitioner to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving positive change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Raising Awareness - Drive awareness of substance misuse and effective strategies for our Service Users within our community accommodation services.

· Training & Development - Provide training to frontline teams on harm reduction strategies and incident response, ensuring all staff are equipped to support residents with substance misuse needs.

· Case Management - Offer case management input for individuals using substances, focusing on interventions to manage risk and support treatment teams.

· Continuous Learning - Keep abreast of national developments and trends in substance misuse, sharing best practices and ensuring staff are updated with local and national drug trends.

· Collaboration & Partnerships - Build strong relationships with external stakeholders to maximise service offerings and create pathways into treatment for Service Users.

· Reporting & Compliance - Produce reports on substance misuse trends and internal developments, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and data protection standards.

To be successful in the role you’ll have a

- Background in delivering substance misuse treatment or recovery services.

- Excellent knowledge of current substance misuse challenges and trends.

- Experience in delivering training or briefings on substance misuse.

- Strong understanding of safeguarding processes and legislation.

- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance standards.

- Effective communication skills to relay complex information to non-clinical staff.

Qualifications

Whilst qualifications aren’t necessary, we would expect that the successful candidate would have previous experience at Practitioner level for the development of training and best practice in drug and alcohol services.
