We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to cover the Midlands region, including a limited number of sites in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leader and advance your health and safety career. Reporting directly to the Health and Safety leadership team, you will support the implementation of the HSEQ strategy, IMS, and conduct regular on-site visits to assess and monitor health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent planning abilities, and a proactive mindset. They should also be client-focused, possess commercial acumen, and have a track record of delivering results within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients and internal H&S team members
  • Chair internal on-site H&S meetings
  • Attend client H&S meetings
  • Provide support to site teams on all H&S matters
  • Review and improve safe systems of work
  • Attend and advise during safe start meetings
  • Manage day-to-day H&S activities on site
  • Conduct workplace inspections and report findings
  • Investigate accidents or incidents
  • Manage on-site occupational health
  • Coordinate training for project staff
  • Contribute to the maintenance of ISO 45001

    Requirements:

    • At least 2 years of experience in a busy site-based H&S role within the construction industry (preferably civils)
    • Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing roles
    • A team player with technical expertise and experience providing health and safety support in the construction and building services sectors
    • Proficient in IT with strong report-writing abilities

      Desirable Qualifications:

      • NEBOSH Construction or equivalent
      • First aid training
