Summary


Moorfields Eye Hospital is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to deliver IT projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join the IT Project Management Office. The role requires a good understanding of implementing technology and project management in the health sector.

This is a specialist IT role and will play a large part in ensuring the success of key deliverables within the IT Department. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager you will work closely with the other IT disciplines and will be responsible for ensuring the success of assigned projects within agreed timescales and budget.

This post demands a wide range of skills and extensive experience including; a good understanding of IT technical terminology, and a proven ability to manage complex projects mitigate risks, and provide strategic support to investment priorities. An excellent understanding of how IT can support the strategic direction of the Trust along with the ability to deliver a varied workload, with a proven track record in using a range of IT systems is essential. You will be equally comfortable working as part of a team or independently.
• This is a specialist IT project management role within the IT PMO (IT Project Office).
• Reporting directly to the Programme Manager the post holder, working closely with the other IT disciplines will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of assigned projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
• As many projects within the ITPO are generated outside of the IT Department, the post holder will be expected to work closely with clinical and operational teams, to ensure all project requirements are fully understood, agreed upon, documented and delivered to their satisfaction.
• This post demands a wide range of skills and experience including; a good understanding of IT technical terminology, proven ability to manage complex projects, and an excellent understanding of how IT can support the strategic direction
of the Trust.

• Responsible for the completion of detailed project documentation in line with PRINCE2 and Agile project methodology.
• To undertake detailed risk assessments on all projects, and ensure that all risks and issues are logged and when necessary escalated in accordance with IT PO and Trust processes.
• Ensure that the Programme Manager receives regular reports on the progress of individual projects, including all risks and issues.
• To take responsibility for the financial control, within pre-agreed tolerances, of specific projects that are IT initiated and to keep the Programme Manager regularly updated on project spending.
• To ensure all Quality standards related to individual projects are met.
To develop agreed work packages in conjunction with other IT disciplines in order to meet project deliverables and to ensure project milestones are met.
• To provide effective liaison between necessary IT resources during all stages of specific IT projects, to ensure both quality and requirements are understood and delivered during the Project.
• Responsible for the monitoring of any IT-assigned sub-contractors to ensure all national and local guidelines are adhered to.
• To complete end-of-project reports and present lessons learned sessions, to ensure projects are continually analysed and improved.
• To ensure Privacy Impact Assessments are completed for all projects involving sensitive information, thus ensuring systems are developed with information security as an absolute requirement.
• To keep abreast of technical developments/trends and of the IT and business strategy of the Trust.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be considered as falling under the remit and responsibilities of this post.
