Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Support Secretary to join the Renal Department within the Medicine Division. The successful candidate will provide support to the Medical Secretaries within the department. The post is for 30 hours to be worked over 4 days Tuesday to Friday, core hours 8am-4pm.

This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join the Renal Department which is a very busy and fast paced department providing patient care across Lancashire & South Cumbria, East Lancashire, Blackpool & Fylde and surrounding areas.

We are seeking an individual that is not only enthusiastic and forward – thinking but also, kind and caring ensuring they are putting the patients and families first throughout their journey of our service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to work in a band 3 capacity, gaining experience to help shape a future career goal.

You will be a member of a team of support medical secretaries providing secretarial and administrative support to consultants, junior medical staff, and any other staff.

You will be working alongside our hugely experienced secretary and clinical teams, helping to deliver safe care and a good experience for our patients.

Your work will cover a wide range of duties including dealing with patient queries, downloading and typing of clinic & results letters, retrieving information, using electronic patient record system.

As part of this role you will provide cover for the medical secretaries during annual leave and absence.

Good communication and computer skills are required, as is a flexible approach to work. Hybrid working will be available once you are established in the role.

You will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills by being the point of contact for day to day enquiries, referring where necessary to more senior staff.

Organising incoming and outgoing correspondence, dealing with routine telephone enquiries as appropriate and referring to appropriate person as necessary.
Coordinate and liaise with Clinical Colleagues and all other staff wherever necessary.
Downloading / Typing of clinic letters or other correspondence produced by Clinical Colleagues.

Provide cover/support for the medical secretaries during annual leave, absence etc.
