The Maintenance Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the Care Home is well maintained, safe, and comfortable for our residents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the facility's infrastructure and equipment.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for residents.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to residents and their families.
  • Be knowledgeable and confident in carrying out various areas of maintenance work.
  • Identifying hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair
  • Identify, document and report maintenance issues.
  • To ensure full compliance with all Legal Legislation- Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Agreed Codes and Working Practises
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly Auditing with Corrective Action Planning
  • Immediately report issues or failures that impact on legal legislation or service level
  • Liaising with the Care Home Manager and Contractors
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst completing tasks within specified time limits and to a high standard.
  • Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team.
  • Contribute towards the efficient running of the team.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Experience of digital records and maintenance software applications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or care home setting.
  • Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A compassionate and caring attitude towards residents.
  • Must have driving license and be able to drive.
