Type: Full-time, Part-time and Relief Vacancies Available
Salary: £24,051 – £25,494 (pro rata) per annum / £12.30 – £13.04 based on qualifications, skills and experience
Driving advantageous, but not essential.
Additional Benefits:
-35 days’ holiday per year (pro rata)
-Time and a half payment for any time worked over 37.5 hours per week
-Carr Gomm will reimburse the SSSC fee for all new workers applying for SSSC
registration
-Recommend a Friend Scheme - T&Cs apply
-Additional mileage contributions of 45p per mile

The role
On any given day you might make a difference by supporting an older woman with dementia to remain independent in her home and maintain contact with her network of friends in her community. You might help a young man with autism move into his first home away from his family, and support him to understand his excitement and fear at this big life step. You might support a father of young children with his benefits claims and understanding his responsibilities as a tenant to reduce the risk of eviction. You might support a woman who has been in hospital for many years to move into her own home again and support her right to make her own decisions in how she chooses to live. You might support a mother who struggles with her mental health to improve her wellbeing by making healthy food choices on a budget and keeping on top of her medications.

We’ll train you to actively listen to people and have the skills and knowledge to be able to take next steps with them. We’ll trust you to work with families and neighbours, local councils and NHS staff.
Career Development
We’ll help you register as a professional social care practitioner with the SSSC. We’ll support you in completing your vocational SVQ training and we’ll ensure you benefit from continual professional development.
