We are actively recruiting in collaboration with a client special school in Fishponds, Bristol, for dedicated and high-energy Autism support workers. These rewarding positions are to work with their pupils between the ages of 5-16. This outstanding school is located in the BS16 post code, in Bristol.

About:

These exciting opportunities are both full- time and long-term. The school is led by a dedicated and passionate senior leadership team, providing a cultural environment of guidance, progression and continual support in the role. The hours at the school are 8.45-15:45, Monday to Friday and term time only.

The school is desirably looking for staff who understand and have experience of working with special educational needs, with either children or adults. For the right candidate/s, we will offer introductions to the school, for the welcoming deputy head to show you the schools dynamic work environment. This position will go permanent, with the opportunities starting ASAP/April 2024 and will lead on to securing a September role.

In the school, you will be supporting individual students on either a 1:1, or group basis, between the ages of 2-19. Your students will have SEND needs including autism, challenging behaviour, profound multiple learning disabilities, severe learning difficulties, social emotional mental health needs and speech and language difficulties. Under the guidance of the class teacher you'll be supporting students, to achieve defined progression with their educational health care plan, progressional targets, aiding their development, both socially and in their education. You will help in maintaining discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encourage good practice with your pupil/s.

The suitable candidate either of the following:

- Suitable for NQT's or qualified teachers

- Qualified Teaching Assistant/s

- Previous experience as a probation officer

- Previous health care or support/social working experience

- Graduate in the following topic/s- Acting, Music, Performing Arts, Psychology

- Previous SEND Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant with experience

- 3/6 Months Experience of working with children

- Sports Coach background

- Available to start ASAP!

To be considered for this role, you will need to:

* Have a right to work in the UK
* Provide one recent child based reference (if possible) and relevant DBS/Police checks (we can support with your DBS application).
