Brightwork are supporting our client, a leader in scientific research, with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer to join their established team.
The Role - Maintenance Engineer
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for the upkeep of various buildings, including offices, laboratories, and research facilities.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard office hours. 1/4 On-call rota paid at a premium rate
Work Location: In person
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain and repair heating and ventilation systems.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessment, and Method Statements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Planned Preventative Maintenance.
• Address emergencies and unplanned problems promptly.
• Collaborate with a small team of in-house engineers to ensure smooth operations across buildings and facilities.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship and adherence to regulations.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding maintenance activities and requirements.
Experience Required:
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance environment.
• Proficiency in Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessment, and Method Statements.
• Experience in maintenance and repairs of heating and ventilation systems.
• Competence in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and handling emergencies and unplanned repairs.
• SVQ or City Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline.
