Summary

40 -hour Qualified or Trainee Counter Assistant - Permanent contract

We are looking to recruit a 40 hour Counter Assistant to work at our 724 branch located in 4 Dickson House, Basingstoke, RG21 7AH

The proposed shift pattern is to work 5 days a week Monday to Friday as follows:

12:00am to 9:00pm (includes 1-hour unpaid break each day)

As a Pharmacy Counter Assistant you will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist and you will assist customers with the sale of over the counter medicines, offering advice on the provision of information, symptoms and products as well promoting the additional services that our branch offers. You will also be tasked with replenishing stock and supporting the pharmacy team.

The role would ideally suit someone with previous customer service experience. The utmost attention to detail is required in this role along with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

The successful candidate must have great people skills as this is paramount to your role. You will be required to work as part of a well-established team and ensure our customers receive a high standard of service.

If you don’t already have a Counter Assistant qualification that is okay as long you are willing to be enrolled onto the Medicines counter assistant course. This course meets the minimum training requirements outlined by the GPhC for staff working on the medicines counter. This fully accredited course provided by the NPA provides the essential knowledge required to sell medicines over the counter and provide appropriate healthcare advice. Interact provides flexible learning at a pace that suits the pharmacy and the learner. Every learner has their own copy of the complete course materials, empowering them to study, learn and have their own personal reference source of information when supporting customers and patients.
