Summary
Choice & Harmony is a day care centre for adults with learning disabilities and/or mild challenging behaviour. We are currently looking to recruit a full time support worker to join our team. If you have a caring attitude, happy disposition and would like to help make a difference, we would like to hear from you.
To be successful in your application, you will be required to demonstrate the following:
• A caring attitude
• An ability to work with service user that can exhibit challenging behaviors.
• Support services users both in the centre and also whilst out in the community to participate in activities such as visiting places of interest, picnics and eating out.
• Administering medication
• Assisting service users with personal care
• Support service users to learn household chores including cooking, cleaning etc.
• Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity.
• Supporting service users with additional needs, such as epilepsy, VNS therapy, PEG feeding and non-verbal communication
• Understand and complete accurate, written, records.
• Support the company’s ethos by promoting independence, choice, equality, diversity & inclusion
Applicants are also required to have experience of working with adults who have learning disabilities. Ideally, you should hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or alternatively proof of transferability of the Care Certificate.
In return, we will offer you:
• 35 working hours per week - Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm (no weekends or evenings)
• A paid lunch break
• You will also receive 23 days annual leave increasing to 25 days after 3 years (plus all bank holidays off as well as a Christmas shutdown).
• Employee Assistance Programme, with counselling services
• A salary of £12 per hour - £21,915.60 p.a.
• Pension after 3 months
