Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager

A vacancy has arisen for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager Wentworth House, at Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse to join our Women's Services within AFS at Wentworth House, Low Secure Service. Wentworth House is an environment that promotes positivity, staff development, staff wellbeing and person-centred engagement. It is an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance your existing skills and knowledge and work within an MDT environment, within a managerial role overseeing the quality of care provided.

The Service provides in-patient assessment, care and rehabilitation for up to 10 female adults with complex mental health needs who require continued inpatient support, discharge and transitional support back to the community following an acute inpatient admission.

The service provides a multidisciplinary team approach providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation with an emphasis on recovery principles and integration into the local community.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, passionate individuals with at least two years post registration experience at band 5 and who have an interest in developing their management and leadership skills; a strong interest in Mental Health Recovery, Rehabilitation, and wellbeing.

The Successful candidate will be required to work shifts on a rotational basis.

The role of Deputy Ward Manager involves providing Leadership, Operational Management and Line Management Supervision to the established team on the Unit, supporting the Manager, monitoring clinical standards, undertaking individual projects, and supporting changes, developments, and improvements within the service.

The post holder will contribute to the assessment of service users, throughout the referral stages and will be supported to contribute to the outcome of these assessments. On admission the successful applicant will help deliver collaborative personalised interventions that are service user, carer, and quality focused. They will support the team to ensure that the interventions delivered are of a high level, quality care and evidence-based interventions within a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for delivering and maintaining high standards of clinical care within the wider team.
