Summary

We are recruiting a full time Grounds Person to join our busy Works Team
Salary £22,737 - £23,500/pa (L3-L5, full time 37 hours)
subject to experience and qualifications, plus £988/pa Inner Fringe Allowance, 23 days annual leave (2024-2025 salary review pending). Saturday overtime available, subject to work requirements.
We require a team member to join us to carry out repairs and maintenance to council properties and facilities, and support the Works team in their day-to-day maintenance of Parish Council playing fields and public open spaces, ensuring we provide a high standard of ground care and maintenance across all Parish Council properties and facilities.
In this role, you will carry out a wide range of repairs and maintenance to council properties and facilities, minor repair to playing field equipment, playing field/open spaces fixtures and fittings, and furniture. Working outside in all weather is a key part of this role.
You will also support the Works team in carrying out grounds’ maintenance works on open spaces managed by the Parish Council, including grass cutting, litter picking, and other types of general grounds and property maintenance.
You must hold a valid driver's license. Ideally you will have experience in carrying out DIY maintenance work to high standard, knowledge of power tools, the ability to solve basic maintenance issues, and the ability to undertake heavy manual work. Training will be provided as well as appropriate PPE.
The position is available for 37 hours a week (08:00 - 16:00, 15:30 on Friday). The work base is the Parish Council Depot, Manor Lodge, High Street, Abbots Langley, WD5 0AP.
