Summary

Out of Hours Social Worker/AMPH - Grade H/I *MR

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Out of Hours Social Worker/AMPH - Grade H/I. In this role, you will be responsible for providing out-of-hours social work services to vulnerable children and families in need. You will work closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in crisis situations. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a dedicated and compassionate individual.

Responsibilities
Provide immediate support and intervention to children and families in crisis situations.
Assess the needs and risks of children and families and develop appropriate action plans.
Coordinate and facilitate emergency placements for children when necessary.
Liaise with police, health services, and other relevant agencies to ensure a comprehensive response to safeguarding concerns.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Participate in case conferences and attend court hearings as required.
Provide advice and support to colleagues and other professionals regarding child protection issues.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
Current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Health and Care Professions Council).
Proven experience in working with children and families in a social work setting.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound judgements in challenging situations.
Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a demanding workload.
Sensitivity and empathy when working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in child protection.
Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and adherence to professional ethics.
