Summary

School & Community Hydrotherapy Pool Supervisor (with TA duties)
Salary £21,056.21 to £22,928.24 (pro rata)
Leading and managing the day-to-day running and organisation of the pool. Line managing the other lifeguard and working closely with the school teaching staff, community hirers and other professionals to support swimming and therapy sessions, ensuring that all health and safety legislations and codes of practice are always adhered to.
Undertaking individual pupil risk assessments following the agreed school format.
Writing lesson plans for teachers or TAs to run in session times. This could be following a swimming scheme or individually written for specific SEN pupils’ needs.
Designing, organising, and running SEN swims during school closure times to allow vulnerable and disabled hirers access to a community hydrotherapy pool.
Essential skills include holding a current and relevant lifesaving qualification, for example the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Level 2 (NPLQ L2) or similar.
Maintaining the pool area to a high standard, upkeeping records, and contributing to the induction of new staff and whole school training
The primary role is to carry out the duties of Lifeguard on the pool in accordance with the instructions contained in the school’s Normal Operating Procedures [NOP] and Emergency Action Plan [EAP] which you will assist in formulating. This includes working under instruction during an emergency.
Other duties include acting as a level 2 Teaching Assistant when the pool cannot be used or as required by the needs of the school, you will also be required to undertake the relevant training and CPD to ensure that your NPLQ remains valid. Providing support for individual pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.

Hours: - 32.5 hours per week and 41 weeks per year (38 weeks + training + additional 2 weeks for holiday clubs)
