Summary


We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual who enjoys working in a challenging and busy environment as we look to expand our Booking Services Team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Working within the main booking team the Two Week Rule Booking Clerk will work closely with patients, specialty teams and the central Cancer Team and other key stakeholders to ensure patients are moved swiftly through their cancer pathways whist ensuring adherence to national waiting time standards and best practice.

You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.

To provide an efficient and high quality Two Week Rule booking service for patients on a suspected cancer pathway to meet the requirements of the clinical specialties and to support the Divisions and Trust in achieving its key access targets. You will be expected to liaise with clinical staff, outpatient staff and managers on the maintenance of services ensuring that accurate information is provided to patients via clinic letters whilst working to national access targets.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:
• To develop and maintain excellent communication and relationships with patients, GP’s, and colleagues across the Trust
• To deliver a booking system that maximises capacity and ensures the Trust can deliver on national cancer access targets.
• To ensure appointments are offered to patients in line with policies and procedures
• Demonstrate exceptional planning and organisational skills
• To develop and maintain a strong team ethic, with the ability to support colleagues and provide cross cover when necessary
• Shared responsibility for Health & Safety promoting a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Take responsibility for your own personal development
