Role Overview:

As the Head of Economics and Business, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the school's Economics and Business department. You will lead a team of passionate educators, develop innovative curriculum offerings, and engage students in meaningful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality courses in Economics and Business at various levels, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Lead curriculum development initiatives to incorporate emerging trends and best practices in business and economics education.
  • As the Head of Economics and Business, you must be able to mentor and support faculty members in their professional growth and development as educators.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic success.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activities in the fields of economics and business, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the discipline.
  • Engage with industry partners and stakeholders to enhance students' understanding of real-world business practices and economic principles.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in departmental planning, budgeting, and assessment processes.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) in Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the post-secondary level, with a record of excellence in instruction and student mentorship.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles and pedagogical best practices in economics and business education.
  • A Head of Economics and Business with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and external partners.
  • A commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and beyond.
  • Experience in academic leadership.
