Summary

Who we are:

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. The people we support tell us that they want “good support from kind and friendly people” – so that is what we are looking for!

Introduction to the role:

We are looking to recruit a support worker for our busy supported living house in Coldean, Brighton. The house is home to four female who each have very different personalities, routines and support needs.

The role involves working to a six-week rolling rota, which includes weekend work, evening shifts, and possible sleeps. Available shifts and contracts can be discussed at interview. Weekend only work available.

The house can be very busy, and residents like to go out a lot. They enjoy going to day centres, eating out, seeing friends, etc. At other times the house can be very quiet. The house has a shared car, and a full manual UK driving licence is preferred for people applying for full time hours.

Duties include supporting residents with medication, transportation, personal care, cooking, cleaning, finances, etc. Experience of working with people with poor mental health and / or autism beneficial.

The individuals that leave at this supported living service have asked for staff who are fun and friendly and will take them out to the café and the shops!

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion:

No applicant for employment or employee will be treated less favourably than another on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership or pregnancy & maternity, and we encourage applications from people with learning disabilities or identify with being on the autistic spectrum/neurodiverse.

Staff benefits include:

Enhanced holiday entitlement
One paid celebration day a year
Cost of living support package such as rental deposit scheme
Cycle to work scheme
Generous refer-a-friend scheme
One paid volunteering day a year
Enhanced sick pay
Enhanced employer pension contribution
Enhanced death in service

Flexible working opportunities.
