We are looking for an independent, dedicated, dynamic individual who can provide technical support for an exciting position within the EdinOmics facility at the University of Edinburghs centre for clinical brain science and will be based in biological sciences. This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.


The Opportunity:

The EdinOmics facility is seeking to recruit a Research Technician to join the Team at the King’s Buildings Campus. You will be assisting the specialist team with sample preparation, perform routine maintenance, quality control and quality assurance tests on instruments for the smooth operation of the specialist equipment in EdinOmics with minimal supervision. Ability to follow instructions, attention to detail and a positive approach to high throughput workloads in a team environment are key requirements for the post. Awareness of laboratory procedures, particularly safe working in a laboratory environment is desirable but full training will be provided.


Your skills and attributes for success:

Ability to follow Standard Operating Protocols, troubleshoot and work under minimal supervision
Ability to perform routine maintenance, QC and QA assurance tests with high reproducibility
Good record keeping
Good communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment
