The job role

Rochford District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to fulfil the role of Parks and Cemetery Operative. The successful candidate will join our existing Open Space, Woodlands and Cemeteries team in undertaking our duties to provide high quality services to our residents.

The ideal candidate will hold a full driving licence and be willing to expand their skills and knowledge within the Green Spaces department. The candidate will gain experience and qualification through our approved career matrix and is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to provide public services within the great outdoors.

The key duties of the post are undertaking internments within the Council owned cemeteries in all weather conditions, undertaking maintenance of tools, shoring and plant and also undertaking the grounds maintenance of the Council owned cemeteries. They will also undertake duty of care Health and Safety inspections of our beloved parks and open spaces.
