Summary

Apply now and embark on a rewarding journey of growth and success with us!

Are you enthusiastic, professional, reliable, and highly motivated? If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you to join our pathology team at a busy district general hospital! We are currently seeking Trainee Biomedical Scientists to be part of our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Our hospital has recently been rated as "Excellent" in a CQC inspection, reflecting our commitment to providing outstanding patient care. Join us, and you'll be based in the state-of-the-art facilities of the UKAS accredited Biochemistry department at King's Mill Hospital.

To be eligible for this role, it is essential that you hold an HCPC accredited Biomedical Sciences degree. Unfortunately, applicants without an accredited degree or those requiring top-up modules will not be considered for an interview.

At the conclusion of the 12 months, you will have successfully completed the registration portfolio and the external assessment, making you eligible to apply for HCPC registration. This opens up a world of opportunities in the field of Biomedical Sciences, unlocking your potential for professional growth and development.

It's important to note that while we invest in your training and development, we cannot guarantee a substantive post will be available at the end of the 12 months. However, we believe that the experience gained during this period will be an excellent foundation for your future career.

To understand the role in more details, please read the attached job description and persons specification document.

Thank you for your interest in this role.

Sherwood is nationally recognised as being an excellent place to work and deliver care. We are rightly proud of the 5,500 colleagues who work here and we are the Health Service Journal’s Trust of the Year in 2020.

The Care Quality Commission rated King’s Mill Hospital Outstanding and Newark, and Mansfield Community Hospitals Good. Overall we are rated Outstanding for care.

For the last three years, we have been ranked as the best NHS Trust to work for in the Midlands and in 2020 we were the third best Acute/Community NHS Trust in England.

Happy colleagues deliver better care. Our teams work in a supportive, inclusive environment, which nurtures wellbeing and has opportunities for development and progression. We do not just care for our patients, we also care for you.

We would love you to join us
