We are looking for individuals to undertake the OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP Programme from September 2024.
The Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship will be delivered in partnership with the University of Huddersfield. Travel to Huddersfield will be required. There will be a requirement to complete full-time practice placements in other services and organisations. This is an excellent opportunity which is very demanding but also hugely rewarding.
Essential Requirements for applicants-

Experience of Health or Social care (work/ voluntary/ lived experience)
Car driver with access to a vehicle
GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and Science, or equivalent
Recent Learning at level 3 (A level/ NVQ 3 etc)

The Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship is a three-year (36 months/45 week working year) practice-based programme combining learning and development through academic study and practice through the workplace and alternative practice placements. Upon successful completion this leads to a degree and professional recognition enabling registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). The key elements of Occupational Therapy within Adult Social Care are outlined within the job description attached. This includes Functional Assessment of people’s abilities to complete everyday tasks, holistic OT assessments, prescribing equipment, recommending adaptations and moving and handling of Adults.
There are up to 2 available posts in different teams across Adult Social Care. The hours are Monday- Friday 8-.30-5 within the work based element of the post. There will be an expectation of 12-20 community visits being completed week, and a minimum of one day a week working in the office base.
Hours on Practice Placement will vary according to the service, and may involve an alternative shift pattern for the duration of the placement.
All Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship posts require an enhanced DBS check to be undertaken. Any Job Offer will be subject to acceptance on the University Course. The candidate must be available for Interview with the University of Huddersfield via Teams on 14th May 2024.
