Consultant Cardiologist with special interest in Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Imaging

Applications are invited for the substantive position of Consultant Cardiologist based at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with some sessions at Barts Health NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our established multi-disciplinary team.

Our department provides inpatient and outpatient cardiology services to the local community, in addition to providing cardiology support for other specialised services within the Trust. We are committed to providing high quality patient care and developing innovative service models.

The post will involve participation in the inpatient Heart Failure consultation service (1 week in 3), a weekly Red Cell Cardiology clinic and a weekly General Cardiology clinic. An important additional part of the post is managing outpatient referral triage for General Cardiology at UCLH (shared with another Consultant colleague).

There will 2 sessions per week (1 day) at BartsHealth NHS Trust, performing cardiac MRI scanning and reporting. Currently, the job plan also includes a commitment to providing inpatient liaison for the hospital’s Cardio-Oncology service (1 in 2 rota). However, it is envisaged that this commitment will be temporary only and will change to a new, alternate week General Cardiology outpatient clinic.
