Overview of Role: As an Applications Engineer (AE), you'll be the bridge between engineering, sales, operations, and customer service. Your role demands strong communication skills, protection and control engineering expertise, and the ability to foster collaboration across departments. You'll excel in customer-facing tasks while maintaining attention to detail in analytical tasks.

Key Objectives:

• Build trust as a power system protection applications consultant for internal and external customers.
• Offer pre-sales technical support and guidance on all protection and control applications of our unique technology.
• Enhance customer relationships through active participation in technical discussions and negotiations.
• Assist sales in securing purchase orders by delivering compelling proposals supported by engineering inputs.
• Facilitate smooth project handover to project engineering and provide ongoing support.
• Stay updated on power system instrumentation requirements and technologies to position our solutions competitively.
• Contribute to functional specifications of our technologies and identify future application opportunities.
• Enhance our credibility in power system protection applications through professional customer interactions and media engagement.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in power transmission, distribution, or generation.
• Proven track record in designing or implementing protection solutions at medium to high voltage levels.
• Hands-on experience with setting up and testing protection relays and related substation equipment.
• Working knowledge of instrument transformers, SCADA communication systems, factory and site testing, and IEC 61850 standard.
• Experience in preparing and delivering high-quality technical documents, presentations, and proposals.
• Strong team-working skills within the power sector.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Excellent degree in Electrical or Power engineering.
• Fluency in English with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad.

Differentiating Criteria:

• Customer-facing and technical sales experience in power system protection equipment.
• Advanced protection and control system applications knowledge within the T&D sector.
• Experience with the latest power system instrumentation and measurement technologies.
• Site testing and commissioning experience.
• Commercial acumen and ability to identify customer needs effectively.
• Master’s degree in Electrical or Power systems engineering.
