About Myself

I am a 37 year old lady living with my parents in the Llantwit Fadre area of Rhondda Cynon Taff.

I have had a Brain Stem Lesion since birth and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). I also suffer with dizziness, frequent episodes of vertigo, visual disturbances and my legs can give way without warning. I often need to be guided or be able to hold onto someone for support. At the moment I use crutches but I may be using a wheelchair in the near future.

My hobbies include reading especially books on typical issues, using the internet, swimming and most importantly shopping.

I have a care package from the local authority to enable me to find my own support for Social outing.

The purpose of the job:

The purpose of this job is to support me while out and about on social outings.

Tasks and Duties

· Accompanying me on social outings e.g. shopping, Cinema and swimming

· Driving me to various places

· Ensuring that I am safe at all times.

· Assisting me with my wheelchair (when required)

· You may also be asked to undertake any other reasonable tasks that may be necessary

Hours of work

7 hours per week

The hours will be flexible and by arrangement until a routine is settled.

Rate of Pay

£12.70 per hour

TRAINING

There is no mandatory training for this job. A person with the appropriate attitude and commitment will be able to do the job.

Experience of working with someone who has mobility problems may be beneficial, but is not essential.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
