Summary
Customade Group is a manufacturer and supplier of uPVC and aluminium windows and doors to trade customers. We are pleased to
announce that we now have an opportunity for a HSE Technician to join our team in Stonehouse.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working closely with the Operations Team, you will be responsible for the Quality
Management System, Health and Safety and Environmental activities across the Stonehouse manufacturing sites.
You will help drive improvements in the safety culture, leading compliance and performance improvements to reduce accidents /
incidents and also the delivery of environmental improvements
Key Duties:
* Advise and lead the management teams on HSE compliance requirements ensuring appropriate HSE systems and training are in place
and delivered
* Manage and track site KPI’s and ensure the timely and accurate reporting o HSE performance data and incidents
* Creates/develops standards/performance frameworks for performance assessment and benchmarking
* Conduct site health and safety audits, risk assessment, safe systems of work process and assist with incident/accident
investigation and reporting, implementing corrective actions as required
* Plan and direct HSE activities and programmes, prioritising projects as required
* To develop and oversee control systems to ensure compliance
* To ensure compliance with, and maintain the quality management system, ensuring metrics are in place to manage performance
improvements, and to assist in the twice yearly BSI audits
* To support the embedding of root cause analysis and problem solving methodologies, undertaking fault finding investigations in
the event of product and process failures
* Liaise with the Operations Director and other SHEQ members at other sites to drive compliance and improvements
* Co-ordinating and delivering of internal training, inclusive but not exhaustive of manual handling, first aid, fire warden
duties and forklift training
* Prepare H&S literature including memos, newsletters and tool box talks and updating HS notice boards and safety signage
* Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment by operating within Company systems, policies, procedures

Person Specification
* Previous HSE management experience
* Experience of working in quality assurance and quality control or managing quality systems
* Resilient and thrives under pressure
* Highly analytical, organised and experienced in problem solving techniques
* Lead and perform site and factory audits
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and drive change
Essential Experience
* NEBOSH or IOSHH certification is desirable and / or a willingness to complete NEBOSH
* Knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations and ISO standards
* Safety leadership including assurance compliance to statutory requirements and liaison with governing bodies
* Strong understanding of all applicable ISO standards
Desirable Experience
* Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing knowledge/skills is highly advantageous
* Experience of dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers
