Summary

Connect Appointments has a new exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced individual to become a Shift Manager within our client's warehouse in Livingston, West Lothian.

This is a full-time permanent position where your role will be centred around supporting the warehouse team in delivering and exceeding targets. This means managing our clients leading Distribution Centre and vast team of Warehouse Operatives.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity working back shift (Monday to Friday, 11am to 9pm), with a competitive salary and range of benefits.

As such, your main duties and responsibilities as a Warehouse Shift Manager will include:

  • Ensuring the warehouse team proper discipline in terms of productivity, timekeeping and breaks
  • Manage and direct staff, promoting health and safety policies at all times
  • Supervise warehouse staff to ensure the proper allocation of work, and completion to the highest standards
  • Conducting quality checks on raw materials and produced items, meanwhile ensuring to report any issues to your line manager
  • Showing a responsible attitude when challenged by staff to ensure you are committed and fully support the businesses policies and decision making
  • Assist with training and mentoring to create a dynamic and multi-skilled workforce
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels
  • Ensuring we achieve all KPI'S, maximising productivity, and improving accuracy
  • Operating flexibility and responding quickly to changes and opportunities
  • Be a responsible key holder - the possibility to be put on a call our rota
  • Attend and support grievance meetings, completing RTW forms, and supporting other aspects of disciplinary hearings

To be successful within this Warehouse Shift Manager position you will ideally have previous experience of operating in a large and fast paced retail distribution operation. Combined with:

  • Good team skills to be able to work with others
  • Good leadership skills
  • The ability to fully carry out instructions
  • Great organisational and problem solving skills
  • Understanding the NAV system to assist with any issues
  • The ability to manage peoples temperament
  • Be flexible, able to support the business during busy periods
  • The ability to multitask
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
