Summary

We believe that every member of staff working in the Radiotherapy team plays a key role in improving patient experience and wellbeing by providing the best possible care to our patients.

The post holder will support our team of Site Specialist Therapeutic Radiographers within the Radiotherapy department to ensure a smooth and efficient service for our patients throughout their pathway and follow up care. The post will involve a combination of patient contact (face to face and on the telephone). The role includes liaising with patients about appointments, dealing with patient queries i.e. answering calls to filter messages, booking follow ups, arranging Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs).

We have a team of 7 Site Specialist Radiographers that look after the care of our cancer patients from MDT through to follow up. The post holder will be responsible for supporting with administrative tasks related to these roles.

The Radiotherapy Department treats approximately 2,000 new cases per year and has 12 Consultant Clinical Oncologists with Specialist Registrars rotating on a 6 monthly basis.

The department is equipped with 4 Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators, Bravos HDR Brachytherapy unit & an Xstrahl superficial unit. We also have Vision RT Surface Guided Radiotherapy on two of our four linear accelerators.

Treatment localisation & planning is provided by a Philips wide-bore CT-Simulator with Sim-RT and Varian Eclipse Planning system and OMP Brachytherapy planning modules.
