Morrison Water Services is recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to work on our Yorkshire Water Contract in Yorkshire.
As a SHEQ Advisor you will be part of the SHEQ Team who are responsible for ensuring the delivery of legislative compliance and promote continuous improvement of Safety and performance
You’ll be supporting the Site Teams in identifying solutions and options to overcome issues, delivering Toolbox Talks, safety briefings and wellbeing campaigns.
You will provide training and advice, encouraging the reporting of near misses through proactive engagement with Operatives and Supervisors. You will also review risk assessments and method statements, verifying temporary works are implemented safely.
You’ll conduct investigations of incidents and accidents, identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence. Reporting incidents in line with Thames Water and parent company minimum requirements and submit reports within agreed timescales. You’ll also ensure actions from investigations are acted upon and close-out the report in a timely manner.
Assisting in the identification of safety training needs for site based personnel and bring these to the attention of the Regional Health and Safety Manager. Cooperating with the Health and Safety Executive in connection with their site visits.
You'll have the opportunity to suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident prevention, promoting innovation and different ways of working, together with monitoring compliance with electronic management systems

Have you gained knowledge and experience of the water industry?
Do you hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, and an appropriate Construction Skills Card, with Streetworks and utilities experience?

Have you working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice?
Do you hold a current driving licence? This is essential for this role.
