Summary

We are recruiting a School Crossing Patrol at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 7 hours 30 minutes per week
Contract Type: Fixed term until 1st March 2025, term time only (38 Weeks)
Location: Waunfawr Primary School

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Road Safety Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £12.18 - £12.38 per hour, and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the safe crossing of pupils and other pedestrians at a specific location going to and from school, ensuring their health and safety at all times.

The post is for a School Crossing Patrol Monday to Friday for Waunfawr Primary School which will consist of two shifts per day, one at the beginning of the school day and one at the end. The crossing site is situated at Gladstone Street & Cobden Street.

You will comply with our policies and ensure regulations are adhered to, within the School Crossing Patrol Guidelines and Handbook. You must be an effective communicator and will be expected to liaise with management, parents, learners and the school successfully.

For the role, we ask that you have:

Good understanding of road use and traffic awareness and are able to demonstrate this on your application form.
Ability to make decisions where appropriate.
Good communication skills
