Summary

Term-time hours – a minimum of 13 per week in the setting, with extra hours paid for updating development records on a weekly basis, any training required and attending monthly meetings and preparing for and attending parents’ evenings 3 times a year. 5.6 weeks of statutory holiday pay per year (paid in August).

 Hourly pay negotiable upon experience and qualifications
 Start Date – 3rd June 2024 (with the possibility of starting sooner)

Crick Pre-School is an established childcare provider for 2 to 4 year olds with an excellent reputation in the area. It is situated within the Primary School and has a dedicated team of staff and parent committee. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Pre-School Assistant to join our friendly team.

Applicants should possess a level 3 (or minimum level 2) Early Year Educator childcare qualification (or equivalent standard). You must have experience of working with children and be able to promote a quality learning environment for children and their families.

The ability to sing in tune is not necessary; however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a room
full of children is essential.
 Pretending to eat play-dough creations realistically is required, although training can be given!
You must also have the ability to read a ten page picture book, upside down, with at least four
interruptions per page.
 Finally you must be prepared to have fun in the workplace; laughter is something you can expect to be a large part of your working day.

Key Responsibilities:
 To develop good relationships with children, their parents and other members of staff.
 To create and maintain a warm, caring, stimulating environment that together with encouragement
will ensure the development of each child.
 To have responsibility for key children including updating developmental records, preparing
progress reports for parents evenings and planning next steps for learning.
 To recognise and meet the needs of each child as an individual.
 To be able to prepare and supervise suitable activities to ensure a stimulating environment.
 To assist in the selection and maintenance of toys and equipment.
 To safeguard children’s well-being.
 To attend staff and committee meetings.

The successful candidate will be warm and friendly with a desire to really make a difference during this crucial stage in a child’s development. As a dedicated assistant you will be committed to ensuring that children leave the setting to enter the first years in school with all the key social skills required.
