We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Post Room Steward to join our busy campus environment.

Job Description:

The Post Room Steward will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective customer-focused mail service, dealing with both internal and external mail. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, capable of communicating well across all levels of the College’s staff and students and committed to maintaining high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide an efficient, accurate, and confidential postal and goods inwards service to the University.
Collect, record, and process consignments/parcels and special delivery post using the ‘In-house’ database/tracking system.
Act as the initial point for customer queries received via email or in person at the reception desk.
Reconcile unidentified mail and redirect packages when appropriate.
Organise and deliver post/goods using trolleys.
Act as the nominated delivery point for hazardous material deliveries.
Act as a nominated reference point in the event of receipt of suspicious packages/mail and follow set safety procedures.
Collect and prepare outgoing mail prior to its collection to meet strict collection times.
Operate the franking machine and printer for processing of outgoing mail and re-credit when necessary.
Assist in arranging maintenance and servicing of equipment, i.e., franking machines and vehicles.
Undertake relevant training courses for Health and Safety requirements, following manual handling guidelines at all times.
Comply with all Data Protection rules and procedures.
