Essential Skills Assessor
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Essential Skills Assessor to join our team. As an Essential Skills Assessor, you will play a pivotal role in assessing the essential skills of learners, including literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. Your assessments will help identify areas for improvement and support learners in achieving their educational and professional goals.
Salary Banding: £24,500 to £27,000
Base: Itec House. Hybrid Working
Contract type: Full-time, permanent.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What are the core responsibilities of this role?
• Responsible for providing literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy support within workshops or one to one setting with learners to ensuring timely achievement of Essential Skills qualifications and skills development, improving on skills in all areas and achieving the full Framework requirements as well as meeting their full potential for skills attainment.
• Responsible for registering, arranging, conducting, and invigilating controlled tasks with learners undertaking their Essential Skills Qualification in line with award body requirements.
• Accountable for supporting and fully engaging learners and employers in the qualification and skills development.
• Deliver training programmes to assigned learners/clients ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved.
• Covering a regional area, travelling to visit learners in workplace to undertake assessments.
• Responsible for contributing to the planning, monitoring, and achievement of agreed performance targets.
• Develop learning materials to support the delivery requirements.

What skills and experience are we looking for in potential applicants?
Essential criteria
• Experience of Work Based Learning and Award Body practices.
• Experience of delivering Essential Skills Qualifications
• Full driving licence with use of own vehicle
Desirable criteria
• Assessor Qualification Award
• Qualified or with the potential and willingness to work towards
• TAQA Qualification or equivalent qualification
• City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 in supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills
• L3 Essential Skills Practitioner Certificate
