Summary

We are looking for an apprentice to become an effective member of our Nursery Team. Our aim is to provide high quality care for pupils in the Nursery. With guidance, you will learn to develop positive relationships with children in our care, make observations and set up and tidy away tasks which will support their development.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Treating each child as an individual and have a general understanding of
childcare and child development
- Observing each child's progress and reporting on interests and achievements,
looking for progression and continuity
- Sharing information about children's achievements and play with room staff
- Developing positive and trusting relationships with children, parents, carers, staff
and outside agencies
- Assisting with the supervision of children at play (indoor and outdoor), at rest and
at mealtimes
- Interacting with children in an appropriate and structured way
- Playing alongside and with children to support their play
- Offering ideas and suggestions about activities and opportunities for children's
play
- Learn how to set up resources and activities in a way that is stimulating and
excitingly presented for children

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required
- End Point Assessment – Knowledge Test and Professional

- How training will be delivered is to be confirmed

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- There may be an opportunity to train for Level 3
- There will also be the opportunity to gain experience with KS1 and KS2 children
by working as a member of the Breakfast Club Team
- These hours would be additional, pay to be discussed if interested
