This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Childrens Services - Intensive Support Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £36,648 - £39,186 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

We are looking for 2 creative and enthusiastic Social Workers to support our Family Meeting service within the Intensive Support Team (IST).

The team is multi-disciplinary and includes social workers, support workers, education worker, health visitor and child psychologist. We only support families open to Caerphilly Childrens Services as such we do not case manage but provide the support to the family as identified by the family and Social Worker in their plan. We work preventatively to keep children cared for within their family.

You will undertake a range of tasks supporting children and families in the community with a focus on facilitating Family Meetings to support and empower families to come up with a family plan to address professional concerns relating to their child.

You will support families and young people to prepare for the family meeting, undertaking home visits when required.

You will work in partnership with the child’s Social Worker to prepare for the meeting and assist with producing information for the family about concerns and potential resources.

We work closely with the parent advocacy service to ensure parents are supported with their voice heard in meetings.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team. You will need to be committed to improving outcomes for children and promote the child's wishes and feelings in line with what matters.

The post is fixed term until 31 March 2025 where it will be reviewed.

For the role, we ask that you have:

Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor.
Up to date knowledge of current legislation Research and Practice issues in childcare.
Social Workers qualifying after 1 April 2016 are required to complete the Consolidation of Practice qualification within the first three years of practice.
