Summary

Based in the beautiful surroundings of Highfields and University Park, Lakeside Arts is the University of Nottingham's public arts centre with a year-round programme of exhibitions, live performances, festivals, workshops, talks and lectures open to everyone, including University staff, students and members of the public.

We are looking to recruit a part-time Marketing and Communications Manager to create and implement promotional campaigns across all areas of Lakeside’s programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop engaging, multifaceted campaigns that inspire individuals and communities to engage with Lakeside’s artistic programme and wider facilities.

Working as part of Lakeside’s busy marketing team, and in particular with Lakeside’s other part-time Marketing and Communications Manager, with whom you will job share, you will be responsible for: identifying target audiences; developing and delivering campaign plans; co-ordinating the production of marketing assets; overseeing the delivery of digital and direct marketing. You will work alongside colleagues from across the University of Nottingham to ensure the successful promotion of all areas of Lakeside’s work.

Along with your passion for the arts and cultural sector, you will have experience in marketing in a professional appropriate to the requirements of the role, with up-to-date knowledge of best practice. You will be able to plan, implement and evaluate marketing and communications campaigns, and have experience of using CRM tools. You will have strong interpersonal skills. You will have experience of working alone and as part of a team and the ability to manage a busy and diverse workload.

All roles at Lakeside Arts are mostly office-based due to the venue-orientated nature of our work, however some home working is permitted.

Whilst Lakeside has an increasingly diverse programme, we need to work harder to ensure that our audiences and our team are more reflective of the artists we engage and the community we want to serve. Lakeside reflects the University’s values of Ambition, Openness, Inclusivity, Fairness and Respect and we welcome those of different cultures, ethnicities and beliefs which are fundamental to our values and enrich everyone’s lives. We particularly welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are currently under-represented in the creative sectors.

The post is offered on a part time (14.5 hours per week), fixed term contract until the end of September 2025.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Timothy Rushby, tel: 0115 846 7379 or email TIMOTHY.RUSHBY@NOTTINGHAM.AC.UK. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
