Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join an expanding team in Birtley, Tyne and Wear.
The role
* Working with mild steel in the production of excavator buckets and earth moving equipment
* You will be setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend and shape metal components according to precise specifications.
* Reading and interoperating written instructions and diagrams and work orders
* Checking sequences and dimensions
* Using the correct tooling and dies on the machines.
* Adjusting the machines as necessary
* Quality monitoring
* Performing routine maintenance
* Working within a team to timescales
* Working a 40-hour week
The person
* Must have proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or similar role in a metal fabrication environment.
* Have a knowledge and proficiency setting up and operating press brake machinery to bend mild steel.
* Have a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
* Have a knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
* Be able to work both independently and part of a team.
* Must have physical stamina and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy materials as required.
This role will become permanent after a probation period.
