Summary

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Brickwork at HMP Dartmoor.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

Day to day duties include:

Delivering a high quality curriculum in Brickwork by developing and maintaining a full course file, including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
Preparation, assessment and marking.
Developing positive learner experiences across all courses.
Engaging employers in through the gate activities to employ learners and support the delivery of the courses.

Required skills and qualifications:

Relevant experience within a Brickwork environment.
Willingness to complete a teaching qualification if required.
Professional qualifications relating to Brickwork.

About HMP Dartmoor

Located in Devon, HMP Dartmoor is a Category C men's prison which is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. NVQ or City & Guilds Vocational training is provided, including courses in brickwork, plastering and painting and decorating. Other courses offered include art, foundation cookery and functional skills. Residents can also pursue education, from basic skills to Open University courses. Dartmoor Prison emphasizes rehabilitation through various offending behaviour programs. It offers a unique, dynamic and rewarding environment for individuals to work and make a difference in the lives of others.
