Summary

We’re seeking a passionate Community Development Manager to join us in advancing our vision of ending local homelessness and putting clients and communities at the forefront of our mission.

ABOUT US

The Development and Quality team is dedicated to supporting existing services, fostering innovation, and creating new initiatives to meet the needs of our community. We collaborate closely with services, staff, clients, and volunteers to identify opportunities, drive strategic growth, and ensure continuous improvement.

THE ROLE

As the Community Development Manager, you’ll work alongside the Head of Development and Quality to strategically develop and deliver community development services aligned with Turning Tides’ vision and goals. This role presents a unique opportunity to lead initiatives that directly impact our mission to end local homelessness by leveraging community interventions and solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the operational aspects of Community Development, including the enhancement of our volunteer service, donations function, and social enterprise.
- Mentor and coach teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and positive impact.
- Implement strategic developments to drive innovation and growth.
- Develop partnerships and networks to expand our reach and influence within the community.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Familiarity with volunteering regulations and housing association/homelessness sector.
- Experience in retail, customer service, or social enterprise service development.
- Proven track record of leadership and team management.
- Success in developing services within the voluntary or public sector.
- Strong networking and communication skills to foster partnerships and inspire others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage projects, plan effectively, and meet deadlines.
