Summary

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Accountancy and Business at HMP Leyhill.

This role is part-time, working 25.9 hours per week.

Day to day duties of the role

To deliver a high quality curriculum delivering construction courses or an alternative as led by the Weston College management team and to carry out all tasks associated with teaching.

Organisational and administrative work.

Preparation, assessment and marking.

Required skills and qualifications

All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.

Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.

Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.

HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison nestled in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College, residents at Leyhill can engage in educational pursuits, ranging from English and math to IT. Additionally, comprehensive vocational training equips individuals with valuable skills and qualifications in wood machining, printing, laundry, retail, kitchen operations, farming, gardening, and fitness. Leyhill takes pride in its personalized approach, offering programs in personal development, social skills, and life management to assist residents nearing their release.
