Summary

Do you have warehouse and team management experience? Are you organised and able to manage a variety of different tasks?

We're looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our leadership team at Gifts in Kind (GIK) to help lead and grow the productivity of our warehouse team. With extensive experience of managing a warehouse team and facility you will play a key role in the growth of our business unit and there is scope for both personal and professional growth for the right candidate.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a small but growing team, your role will be to manage every aspect of the warehouse in Rugby and work alongside the Head of GIK & Sustainability to continue to grow the team, increase productivity and implement new processes and procedures to streamline the workload.

All this will be done whilst ensuring the Gifts in Kind (GIK) team are able to generate as much revenue as possible from the corporate donations received to help support children, young people and families in the UK.

Responsibilities to include:

Leading a busy and growing team of 8 warehouse employees both in terms of general people management responsibilities as well as assigning day to day tasks.
Ensuring the warehouse remains orderly,the inventory is kept up to date and items remain safely stored, easily identifiable and retrievable at all times.
Supporting the team with their progression and development.
Overall accountability for the timely sorting, picking, packing and dispatch of items to Barnardo's network of over 600 charity stores.
Managing budgets for external storage and packaging requirements.
Handling and managing donations, returns, recycling, waste & sourcing resale opportunities for items unsuitable for sale in stores.
Testing & implementing new warehouse management processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
Ensuring all Health and Safety requirements and regulations are adhered to.
Oversee incoming and outgoing stock movements and ensure accurate records are kept
Working closely with other departments as well as line managers to ensure Barnardo's basis and values are at the heart of everything we do.
What skills and qualities do we require?

Extensive experience of leading a diverse team in a warehousing/logistics environment.
Considerable warehouse/logistics/fulfilment management experience.
Experience of managing budgets and costs.
A strong understanding and a background of managing health and safety in a warehouse environment.
High moral integrity and ability to apply fair and reasonable people related decision making.
Autonomous in approach, results driven, hard-working and enthusiastic.
Effective analytical decision making and forward thinking.
Adequate problem-solving skills with a flexible approach.
Strong organisational skills
