We are looking for an inspiring and encouraging leader, to lead your team to success, ensuring targets and KPI’s are met. As a Train Presentation Supervisor you’ll play a vital part in supporting the delivery of a high cleaning service through your team, which meets the requirements of our customers and other stakeholders, by ensuring staff are fully trained and organised to meet business requirements.



As a Train Presentation Supervisor within our team, you will be supervising teams across a small number of locations, to ensure work is delivered to the required standard. As part of the Train Presentation team, you will play a vital role in delivering a high cleaning service by organising your team, to meet the requirements of our customers and other stakeholders. With new carriages, more services and a growing business it is our job to make Northern fit for the future.




Reporting to the Train Presentation Manager at our TrainCare Centre’s and outstations, you will be responsible in ensuring the desired quality, safety and presentation standard and compliance is delivered consistently at all locations. You will work with the Train Presentation support team to ensure all employees are trained and competent to complete their work and ensure your team can confidently, focus only on the delivery of a clean presentable train.



It’s an exciting time to join our Train Presentation team, and you’ll need to work a range of shifts, from the early hours of the morning and including nights, plus weekends and Bank Holidays, it’s vital that you’re flexible



We also need you to have a full clean driving license, as there were be travel across our East Train Presentation depots, including Neville Hill.

Key responsibilities:




This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:

Engage, support and lead your team to success
Responsibility for the Train Presentation teams and the cleaning and presentation of our trains, to the required standards at your location/s
You’ll be the first line support to the Train Presentation teams
Ensuring that your teams have the necessary resources and facilities to complete their role
Delivering a clean, presentable and functioning train for our customers by following the company cleaning specification using the company approved cleaning equipment and methods
Completing audits of trains and site visits with the teams
Inspire the team for development, including self-management and accountability
About you:



We are expecting you to be dedicated and reliable, with the passion to make a difference, to provide first class line supervision to a small number of teams across a variety of sites. Your greatest strength will be your leadership and communication skills, to demonstrate you can manage teams to success and build rapport with various people and personalities.




We’re also looking for the following:

Previous experience of leading small teams
Full and clean driving licence
Use of technology is key in this role, with the ability to share your knowledge with others
The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Exceptional organisation skills, to ensure nothing gets left behind or missed
Great communication skills, both written and verbal
Capability to be able to think on your feet, in sometimes demanding situations
Awareness of COSHH and basic Health & Safety is desirable, although training will be provided in the necessary safety procedures.
