Summary


The Head of Nursing for this service will cover Gynaecology, Vascular, Haematology, Radiology and Clinical Care Services and is a key member of the Care Group management triumvirate, working in tandem with the Care Group General Manager and Clinical Director. Mainly, working closely with and reporting into the Divisional Director of Nursing, Divisional Director of Operations, and the Divisional Medical Director. As Head of Nursing, the post holder will provide leadership, facilitation, and operational direction to all nurses within the Care group, ensuring this reflects the changing needs of patients, stakeholders, and the organisation.
• The role will support the Division in providing cross-site (NPH, Ealing and CMH) but mainly based at Northwick Park Hospital senior management visibility. This post will require at least one day, every two weeks at both Ealing and CMH.
• Deputise for the Divisional Director of Nursing and take line management responsibility for designated matrons within the Care group.
• Support the Divisional Director of Nursing in improving standards across the division by facilitating the development of practice and strengthening leadership to ensure a quality service is delivered.
• To act as a clinical expert within the Care group and Division
• Supporting the Divisional Director of Nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will lead and facilitate development of department services at a strategic level.
• The role will support the Division in providing cross-site senior management visibility.
• Deputise for the Divisional Director of Nursing when required.
• Responsible for line management for relevant staff including designated matrons within the Care group.
• Support the Divisional Director of Nursing in improving standards across the division by facilitating the development of practice and strengthening leadership to ensure a quality service is delivered.
• The post-holder will provide professional leadership and management to all accountable staff including recruitment, appraisal, continual professional development, and disciplinary matters to provide a patient focused service.
• To act as a clinical expert within the Care group and Division
• Supporting the Divisional Director of Nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will lead and facilitate development of department services at a strategic level.
• Responsible for designated nursing budgets and effective management of resources.
