Summary

St Polycarp’s Catholic Primary School is looking for a dedicated member of staff who can run Speech and Language interventions and provide targeted support for children with identified Speech and Language needs.
Job Purpose
Setting up interventions
Creating resources
Liaising with the Speech and Language therapists
Planning and delivering targeted speech and language support as directed by the Speech and Language therapists (SALT)
Planning and delivering the NELI Language intervention
Liaising with the class teachers and providing updates to children’s short-term targets
Updating children’s short-term targets and provisions using Edukey (Provision mapping)
Run small group and 1:1 interventions
Key Accountabilities
Analysis, Reporting and Documentation
Maintain and submit records following relevant school policies & procedures.
Planning & Organising
Plan and organise own work and/or intervention to meet given priorities.
Assess the range and volume of work to be undertaken for the days or weeks ahead and plan to ensure it is completed to time and to an appropriate standard.
Ensure materials and equipment are available as and when required.
May be required to contribute with activity planning.Work with others
Respond to individual needs and/or answer simple queries politely and ask for assistance where necessary.
Report any concerns, problems or incidents, e.g. safeguarding, behaviour in accordance with relevant reporting procedures.
Liaise and work in partnership with key leads for other activities that may impact on own areas of responsibilities.
Liaise with parents, visitors, and contractors in a courteous manner, to promote a positive image of the site.
Personal attributes:
The successful candidate will be required to enjoy working with SEND children and be empathetic to their needs. Patience and adaptable approaches will be essential in the role. Prior experience of working with speech and language will be desirable but not essential, training will be provided.Start date: Either 3rd June 2024 or 4 September 2024 dependent on successful applicant’s availability
