Summary

Vacancy: Clerk to Trust Board Contract: Permanent, Part-time - 38 weeks (term time) Grade: TSPT 7 (Point 22 – 25) Hours: 15 hours per week - approximately 570 hours in total per academic year (40 hours of face to face or online meetings and the remainder in administrative work) Trustee meetings are sometimes in the evenings. All other hours are carried out flexibly working from home. Salary: £9,9444 - £10,725 per annum (FTE £28,594 - £30,841) Start date: ASAP Our current Clerk is stepping down and we are seeking to appoint an experienced professional who would want the flexibility that such a term time role would bring. The Clerk role is home based, with a requirement for travel to attend face to face meetings at our schools when required, although around half of the meetings are conducted remotely. The role requires clerking of all Trust Board meetings and meetings of the Trustee Committees. There are approximately 20 meetings throughout the academic year that are either online or face to face. The majority of these are held in the evening, with some Committees meeting at 8am. The main purpose of the Clerk is to provide administrative support including setting the agenda through consultation and minute taking each meeting. In addition, it would be helpful if the Clerk was able to offer advice on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. A laptop will be provided. The Clerk should: • Provide effective administrative support to the Trustees; • Ensure that the Committees and Trust Board are properly constituted; • Manage information confidentially and effectively in accordance with legal requirements. The Clerk will regularly liaise with the Chair of Trustees and will report to the COO of the Trust. They will be able to refer any governance or legislative queries to the COO, although awareness of these areas would be beneficial. They will be part of the small clerking team within the Trust and will benefit from team meetings and development opportunities. The role also requires that a clerking function be carried out to manage the set-up, document distribution and minute taking at any Trustee hearings or panels, but these are very infrequent. This role will start as soon as the successful candidate has completed the necessary employment checks as detailed below. Previous administrative or secretarial experience is essential and experience of working in a school or clerking would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will be organised, able to prioritise and work independently and be good at meeting deadlines. Responsibilities will include agenda preparation, note taking at meetings and production of minutes. The Spring Partnership Trust strives to offer the very best education within our power to every child we can reach. Our member schools are part of a family that shares its knowledge, expertise and resources to change children’s lives. You will be committed and passionate about raising standards and life chances for all children in an inclusive environment. Our Schools/Trust and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. For all short listed candidate’s, references will be requested in advance of interview and an online search will be carried out. The successful applicant will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure and checks regarding proof of ID, medical clearance and the right to work in the UK. We are proud of our diversity and inclusive culture in our work place. We welcome all applications regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy, maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage or civil partnership. We have a strong wellbeing offer in place for all staff, and a culture of ambition, collaboration, fairness and respect. You are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible. Due to volumes and quality of applications received, the Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy sooner than the specified closing date. If you have not been contacted within 2 weeks of the closing date, unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
