Looking to progress your career in Cardiac Physiology in a friendly, tertiary level setting?

Our Cardiac Physiology team are looking to recruit a Band 6 Specialist Cardiac Physiologist looking to develop further in Cardiac Cath Labs and train in Cardiac Rhythm Management. We are a friendly, education minded department looking to support the continuing development and ongoing CPD. The post holder will therefore be based in the CRM/Cath Lab/Non-invasive department at St. George's.

15% recruitment and retention premium (RRP) will be added to the basic salary in addition to Inner London high cost living allowance (HCA). Opportunities to participate in weekday and weekend waiting list initiatives lists at enhanced rates are available.





The post holder will be required to hold a BSc Cardiac Physiology/Healthcare Science (Cardiology) or AHCS Certificate of PTP Equivalence. Voluntary registration with the RCCP or AHCS must be held or be in the application phase. In addition the post holder will need to undertake a full range of complex and routine invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, providing specialist input to the delivery of the clinical service and actively contributing to the smooth running of a quality service to patients.

St. George’s Hospital is the provider of one of the largest specialised cardiology services in London. The cardiac physiology service at St George’s performs over 50,000 cardiac investigations and procedures per year including complex PPM/ICD implants and follow-ups, a large EP service performing VT, AF and SVT ablation, a well-established TAVI program and a long standing PCI service including a 24/7 PPCI service and thriving CTO program.

With nearly 9,000 dedicated staff caring for patients around the clock, they are the largest healthcare provider in southwest London.

Their main site, St George’s Hospital in Tooting – one of the country’s principal teaching hospitals – is shared with St George’s, University of London, which trains medical students and carries out advanced medical research. St George’s Hospital also hosts the St George’s, University of London and Kingston University Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences, which is responsible for training a wide range of healthcare professionals from across the region.

As well as acute hospital services, they provide a wide variety of specialist care and a full range of community services to patients of all ages following integration with Community Services Wandsworth in 2010.

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 1.3 million across southwest London. A large number of services, such as cardiothoracic medicine and surgery, neurosciences and renal transplantation, also cover significant populations from Surrey and Sussex, totalling around 3.5 million people.

The trust also provides care for patients from a larger catchment area in southeast England, for specialties such as complex pelvic trauma. Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases. The trust also provides a nationwide state-of-the-art endoscopy training centre.
