Molesey Community Hospital are looking for compassionate and capable HCA's who are looking for shifts within the community.

Shifts are: earlies - 0730 - 1400 lates - 1400 - 2000 nights 1930 - 0800
Public Transport to Molesey Community Hospital is limited, so car drivers are preferable. This site does have free parking for all workers who complete shifts there - once arrived, please let the receptionist or the NIC know car reg and vehicle.


The role of a Healthcare Assistant is a very privileged role, as a HCA you will provide personal care and support to patients at their most vulnerable times. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide a compassionate, caring and safe environment for our patients.

As a member of the nursing team participates in establishing a good working environment in which patients receive a quality service.

· Demonstrates a sensitive and caring attitude towards patients and their relatives and friends.

· Works in a collaborative manner within a multi-disciplinary framework.

· Takes an active role in maintaining effective communication with all disciplines, patients and relatives.

· Promotes health by assisting clients.

· Follows agreed Health and Safety policies in relation to personal and patient safety.

· Works within the Trusts and departmental policies and procedures.

· Keeps up to date with personal development.

· Willingness to learn and undertake new skills as required by the service.

· Actively supports other team members in promoting and implementing procedures necessary

· Able to use Trust IT systems as required.

· Undertakes any other duties within capabilities deemed necessary by the senior staff



Direct Care

· Under the direction of the registered nurse assists the patient in meeting their individual needs in the following areas.

a. safety

b. dressing

c. mobilisation

· Ensures that patients privacy and dignity is maintained

· Following a period of training and assessment by qualified staff is able to assist in performing and recording of patient observations.

a. Temperature, pulse, respiration.

b. Blood pressure (automatic machine)

c. Weight

d. Peak flow

· Following a period of training and assessment by qualified staff undertake.

a. Specimen collection – urine, faeces, sputum.

b. Routine urinalysis.

c. Visual acuity.

· Following a period of training and assessment by qualified staff prepare patients and support professionals with:

a. vaginal/ rectal examination

b. sigmoidoscopy/ proctoscopy

c. sterile procedures (with protocols)d. Support clinicians with any other procedure undertaken within the clinic setting if within capabilities.
