Summary

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Building Service Engineer to join a well-established company based in Boldon

Reports To: Director
Office Location: Boldon Business Park
Salary: £25,000 to £45,000 depending on experience

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a growing company as an electrical building services engineer.

You will be required to undertake the electrical building services design and contract supervision elements of complex and in some cases highly technical projects across a wide and diverse construction sector range.

Due to the continued success and healthy portfolio of projects awarded particularly within the health care sector it’s a great opportunity and time to join the business and grow your experience and assist with the development of the more junior engineers.

You will be expected to manage your workload efficiently, producing designs, specifications and reports on time and to the required quality expected of a mechanical or electrical building services consulting engineer.

The ideal candidate would have a good appreciation and understanding of the other building services disciplines and be capable of representing the company with other professional design team members throughout the projects from conception to practical completion.

It would be desirable to have obtained a number of years’ experience in this industry and we would be interested in both capable candidates with several years gained or someone seeking their first opportunity of working at engineer level.

We would expect you to have attained a recognised engineering or management qualification with membership of CIBSE or similar institutions as well as working towards chartered engineering status with the engineering council.

Main Duties
• Developing conceptual / detailed design solutions in line with the project brief
• Carrying out the detailed design and calculations using Hevacomp, IES, dialux or similar design software tools
• Able to demonstrate AutoCad, Revit MEP and BIM knowledge, experience and capability
• Writing of technical specifications and producing detailed design drawings for tendering purposes
• Technical and quality reviews of project production information maintaining high standards
• Management of projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability for the business.
• Identify and manage allocated resources to achieve project milestones
• Professionally represent the business at a wide range of meetings from client, design team and site attendance
• Good communicator with a professional approach and ability to interface and build relationships with clients to secure repeat business
• Design, supervision and technical reviewing of allocated projects
Qualifications
• Educated to HND / degree level in relevant subject
• Attained or working towards chartered engineer status
Skills
• Hevacomp / Revit / AutoCAD
• Excellent communicator and listener
• Strong written and technical capability
• Good at solving problems
• IT literate
