Summary

Assist in the delivery of the technological aspects of radiotherapy service Assists in providing professional technological leadership in an area of expertise locally. Assists in maintaining and developing high standards of service provision throughout their area of responsibility Assists in developing, implementing and monitoring clinical and organisational strategies within areas of expertise Contributes to service and staff development Responsibilities in specialist project areas Participates in roster covering 7-day working week. The responsibilities of REG Engineers include ensuring treatment machines function correctly and therefore enable patient treatment, applying fault diagnosis skills, engineering knowledge and IT knowledge to minimise clinical downtime, carrying out planned preventative and unplanned corrective maintenance, and providing the technical, engineering-related input to multidisciplinary radiotherapy service team. REG also works closely with the clinical and scientific Radiotherapy teams to balance the needs of the service. Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate.The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
