Summary

Your new company
Hays have been approached by a primary school located in Clitheroe who are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to work 5 days a week on a 1:1 basis until the end of the academic year. It is a small school with only 20 children in the class. The school looks to provide an education for all and like to enable children to acquire and develop a range of skills and concepts. The school are looking for a hard-working and dedicated teaching assistant to come and support their pupils.
Your new role
This role will consist of 5 days per week and will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 6 with ADD. He will be transitioning to an SEN high school from September, so you will be helping to support this transition as he finishes year 6. Most of his behaviour is very good, but does have some anxiety towards certain situations. Your working hours will be 9am - 3:30pm with 30 minutes lunch break. You will be expected to help support at break & lunchtimes. The school are looking for a friendly and committed individual who can come in and support the child to make sure they remain focused throughout the lessons. You must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils as they work. If this child finishes his work, there is the expectation to help other children in the class if they need it. You will work closely with the teacher to ensure that all work set is delivered and planned in line with pupil ability. You will need to be fully committed to the role and be ready to give it 100%.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children and ideally previously experience supporting SEN children, even if you have limited experience, we want to hear from you. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start as soon as possible and continue through until summer.
